Catch
the Shipwreck Treasures: Offshore Fishing
Featured
fish: Snapper, Kingfish, Ling, Amberjack,
Dorado
During
the summer months, June through September,
Galveston holds a variety of species of fish
such as Snapper, Kingfish, Ling, Amberjack,
and Dorado.
Almost
all of these fish provide the customer with
powerful fights and meat in the igloo.
Most
of the offshore fishing is done over rocks
and wrecks scattered out over the bottom of
the Gulf of Mexico, anywhere from 12 to 50
miles from port. Other
structures are rigs and pipe stems used for
the mining of gas and oil.
Bottom
fishing for Snapper and drift lining for Kingfish
are the typical strategies to entice the fish
to bite.
Angling
Adventures uses artificial and natural baits
offshore. For cover from the summer sun, the
t-top provides plenty of shade.
